Night Watch Families - Current and Future,
In the last month, I gave birth to two beautiful baby girls! When I tell you, I can’t wait for them to become NW babies in a few weeks!
Over the last 8 years, I’ve hand-selected this team. They are a village that I would have confidently helped me care for my babies.
The main pool I’ve pulled from for staff has been Night Watch moms! I’ve brought on 10 or so moms over the last few years. Some were looking for a part-time job while transitioning from one thing to another, while some were looking for a full-time career.
We started a registered apprenticeship. We partnered with Harford Community College to support one mom in earning her CDA (child development associate). I found grant funding for another mom to get trained in RBT. We invest in our moms around here!
Why do I share? Because when I say we have great staff- we have great staff. They were (and still are) NW moms. We’ve become a community of moms (with the exception of Mr. Ben- my husband and lead teacher) that are helping one another through the ups and downs of motherhood.
Having a space for evening childcare for moms has been a value in our community. For moms who were looking to spend the day with their children. A mom who might need to be home during the day because the school keeps calling for this reason or another. A mom who needs to be available for doctor appointments during the day.
In addition to childcare, we have become an avenue to finish diploma, find a new career and access to music therapy for their child.
Allow us to become part of your village at the Night Watch Childcare. We are more than evening and overnight childcare.
